There have been some high regional atmospheric pressure records set recently and that is why we’re experiencing some of the weird weather we’ve been having in the Midwest. I’ve noticed an effect of the weather “flip flops” as I call them. They trigger my migraines. Rapidly changing barometric pressure, rainy days or high pressure sunny days, can both trigger a migraine for me. It was found that “chinook winds” caused migraines too. So I wasn’t too surprised to see it suggested that climate change was linked to higher incidents of mental illness.
However the real lunatics in the GOP which is now completely anti science (in fact anti-reality really), will eventually kill us all (even if we’re true believers), if Rick Perry wins the White House in 2012. This will be a real zombie win! The right wing’s favorite methodology remains the witch hunt. Coming soon to a formerly progressive stronghold you used to think was safe…
Of course, as Chris Hedges points out, the democrat zombies (he calls them trolls) that are supposedly on my side have thrown me under the bus every step of the way, they won’t be stopping this madness either.
We’re finally on our own!
Wow! The republicans have finally created a world where we are on our own! Isn’t it wonderful? Don’t you just love the “freedom” (from reality)? Can’t you just smell the rugged individualism? Or is that just someones soylent green burgers being sacrificed on some psycho right wingers backyard BBQ?
Eventually I expect they will kill me, disappear me, “exterminate” me, starve me, stone me, or possibly even eat me regardless of whether I fight them or not! So I may as well die trying to defeat this insane GOP plan to repeal the last thousand years of human advancement. Forget about the twentieth century, we’ll be lucky to avoid witch trials for liberals, environmental “terrorists”, hippie weed heads (of course), queers, starving artists, progressive activists, peace heads, and anyone else not found on the list of 144,000 chosen to reign over the heathen masses in a 1000 year modern Spanish inquisition . Red hot pincers anyone? Austerity budgets anyone?
They will do this because I believe in science, anthropomorphic climate change, and I’m going to keep them from doing business the old (careless) way eventually and they know it.
And since I’m an atheist, I wouldn’t know how to behave morally anyway right? So why not kick in my door and disappear me? I would expect no less from “christian” supremacists.
Because I’m an environmentalist and I’ve bothered myself to follow data concerning the industrially driven mass extinction event we live in now and which you have been ubiquitously told to disregard (what could those dirty hippies know anyway)? It’s called the Holocene mass extinction event. You should google it.
Because I have Cystic Fibrosis I’m a drain on the “system”. A genetic disorder which guarantees that my medical expenses will be high necessitating my living in a society that believes in compassion and that medical care is a right rather than a privilege. The republican controlled congress denying all science or reform is the closest thing we have on earth to a death panel.
And last but certainly not least, because I know that my own sexuality is not what Rick Perry or Bob Vader Plaats would want it to be, I fear for my life and more importantly I fear for the realization of mine and so many other peoples dreams of a life without so much pain and suffering. Without judgement. Without fear and hate. It is exclusively the right wing that is polarizing America, destroying discourse and encouraging hateful wingnut violence. Liberals believe that we’re all in this together, until of course its the dirty hippie or the blacks, or latinos or muslims, or atheist, or…. well, you get the picture, divided we are conquered by the plutocrats that have virtually picked our once healthy democracy down to the bones. We are now on the final road to full blown fascism in this country and our own roundup of the queers, weedheads, liberals, poor people and everyone else that doesn’t think like Rick Perry. And just nevermind that consensual sex (however and with whomever you’re having it )is more than likely good for you.
I know that our planet earth is being killed by farmers and the armies that sprung up around them. The environmental clock has been wound up more tightly and it is ticking faster and faster with each ton of CO2 we mindlessly pump into the atmosphere. Organizations (organic or otherwise) which cannot change fast enough, whether they be our institutions, our outmoded ways of (non) thinking, or perhaps even our very bodies, will all perish like evolutionarily bad ideas always do.
I know that the hippies, peace heads, liberals, community advocates, the Wendell Berry’s of the world, were and continue to be more correct about this than ever before. Our only consolation seems at times to be able to say I told you so and help you pick up the pieces of your broken dreams. Never mind ours, they’re under the bus where they’ve always been.
War itself, upon the land, upon our medicine, upon our freedom, or more recently upon teachers, public unions and the middle class, is the terrorism of the rich (right wing) and based entirely upon lies.
Resistance is the struggle of the poor, the queers, the different, in other words: “we the people”. We need to rise up and regulate these new robber barons.
Our neo-feudal overlords David and Charles Koch and now Harold Simmons are the vocal, hateful, right wing minority, and they are calling all the horrible GOP shots and trying to act like they’re our daddy asking liberals to just grow up… and they don’t even believe in science! Or bisexuality. Or that humans are causing a mass extinction event, or even that evolution is more than a theory… Wow! But then these people live in a world where, as in Bill Maher’s 100 slice pizza analogy, 99% of us don’t matter.
I say resist. Resist now before it’s too late.
Take your eyes off the glass teat! Sit down and watch the television for an hour with it turned off and see what happens. If you don’t during that hour realize how much television is sucking your life right out of you, I expect you’ll try and eat my brain someday.
