 job's tears

I feel like I could cry a few of these now and then.

They have this hole through the center of the “tears” that make them a perfect natural bead!

Very ingenious of mother nature to create such wonderful little things such as beads that grow like grass.

In the picture below You can see what I mean.

Job's Tears close-up

I’m thinking about what I might use to drill the soft center of the bead in order to make something with them.

They’re extremely hard when they’re dry. They start out green and turn black a then finally a mottled grey color.

Here’s another picture of an individual bead so you can see the final color.

Darker bands decorate the grey. Very close-up picture of Job's Tears

I just tried using a needle to poke it through the center of the seed and it went right through it! Not hard at all either.

Now I just need to go collect a few more of them and I’ll be able to make a bracelet or something.
