I’ve fought along side you on many and varied issues over the years. As many of you know, I am not a liberal. I’m not a conservative either. What I am is a free thinker. I don’t believe people are so horrible that we can’t govern ourselves and I believe strongly in the human capacity [...]READ MORE »

Legal Marijuana’s Biggest Foes: CIA, DEA, & Big Pharma; Why They Love Prohibition And Why We Will End It Anyway
A Cold War Gone Domestic
That the CIA and the DEA are working together via the war on drugs to subvert democracy both domestically and abroad, while treated like conspiracy theory in the media, is not credibly disputed among political scientists. It used to be the “Soviet threat” that was used to manipulate people into allowing government secrecy, scapegoating and other totalitarian tactics to prevail. These days it’s the “war on drugs” or “terrorism” invoked when the spooks and the war hawks want intervention against democracy rising against corporate colonialism. As Smedley Butler, one of the most decorated soldiers in US history put it: “War is a racket”. The notion that the CIA outspends it’s congressional budget by orders of magnitude and uses drugs imported from around the world to fund it’s spook ops is probably only the tip of the iceberg. Naturally the DEA would be the logical partner in a scheme to sell massive amounts of drugs to unsuspecting users in the US and use that funding to corrupt and bribe and torture their way around the globe partnering with despots rather than democratically elected leaders. Even our opposition, the authoritarian prohibitionists, contend that every purchase we make whether it be marijuana, cocaine or heroin, you’re actively funding terrorists. It’s a dangerous spooky game out there and never mind the military industrial complex shipping cocaine it’s those criminals and drugs dealers and users that are ultimately to blame, lock up, and enslave.
Here’s a few back up facts if you care to dig into this:
From “Drugs Oil and War”
“In the half century since the Korean War the United States has been involved in four major wars in the Third World: in Vietnam (1961-1975), in the Persian Gulf (1990-1991), in Colombia (1991-present), and in Afghanistan (2001-2002).’ All four wars were fought in or near significant oil-producing areas. All four involved reliance on proxies who were also major international drug traffickers. The American habit of training, arming, and financing its drug-trafficking allies in order to help secure oil resources abroad has been a major factor in the huge increase in global illicit drug trafficking since World War II.” – Peter Dale Scott Professor Emeritus University of Berkeley
More on that here: Drugs and the Economy – Peter Dale Scott on Economics 101
I was actually watching c-span one day and saw John Kerry, as milquetoast as the guy might be, said; “It’s hard to tell where the “good guys” end and the criminals begin”. He was talking about allegations and evidence that indicated that the CIA was using drug traffickers for funding in the Iran Contra scandal which ultimately altered an American election by preventing the earlier release of hostages held in Iran which had been brokered by George H.W. Bush in order to defeat Jimmy Carter by artificially positioning him as weak on foreign policy. The October surprise that tricked America into electing a tool like Ronald Reagan was funded by a CIA operation that also helped introduce crack cocaine to Los Angeles.READ MORE »
New marijuana news and messaging resource: HempSaves.net
And there are actually a total of five bills being floated in the Illinois legislature right now. HB 1, the medical marijuana bill is actually just a shell bill so it’s not that exciting really. The really significant thing is the three model legislations calling for outright legalization of marijuana. The other bill is specifically addressing the ban on growing hemp hoping to tap into the roughly $10 billion market that is served here in America by mostly Canada and China who have no such restrictions upon marijuana’s low THC cousin Hemp.READ MORE »
The tomato plant is a member of the deadly nightshade family along with potatoes and Datura (a well know and dangerous and illegal drug). For many years europeans thought they were deadly poison until they saw natives eating them.
These plants, including the tomato plant contain toxins called tomatine and solanine. Drinking tomato leaf tea can kill you
Cannabis on the other hand has never killed a single person, is nearly the only non-toxic plant ever discovered as well as being non-allergenic (right, no one has ever been allergic to it). It is also the most medically therapeutic plants ever discovered by mankind. One acre of hemp can make the same amount of paper as four acres of trees. It’s seeds are higher in omega 3′s and 6′s than any other food, providing hig quality nutrition very cheaply. It grows like a weed and probably cures cancer.
It is by far safer than either alcohol or tobacco and with this plant we can have a sustainable economy that won’t destroy our planet.
Regulate cannabis like tomatoes, end the war against our medicine.READ MORE »
I know I’m probably one of the happiest people in America to see us finally legalizing marijuana. I spent almost 6 years in prison for growing weed and I think it’s about time we let every single person in prison on drug charges out. This is the most important thing that happened in this election. Marijuana has become the new swing vote.
The new recession busting strategy is all in the new green rush happening in Colorado and Washington. I’ve been wishing I could get back into my old business of growing weed for many years and now I think it’s time to make a move in that general direction.
Here are the top stories today in my view:

Weed is the new swing vote and the political ostriches are trying to make it go away by not seeing it.
This has to be the most under reported election story this season (it is the only thing that excites me at all) yet there is zero documentation of this historic occasion in any mainstream coverage that I’ve seen so far. Other than people like Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart there seems to be nearly complete silence regarding the obviously hot issue of marijuana.
For decades talking about ending the drug war was a political third rail right up there with prisoners rights. Now, it seems that tide has turned. So what happens? The media completely ignores the fact that there are at least four historic ballot initiatives regarding cannabis this election season.
Colorado – Yes On 64 – tax and regulate marijuana like alcohol
Washington – Yes on I-502 – tax and regulate marijuana like alcohol
Oregon – Yes on 80 – tax and regulate marijuana like alcohol
Arkansas – the first southern state to consider medical marijuana
Massachusetts – Yes on #3 – medical marijuana initiative
Montana – No on SB423 – Repealing the repealing of medical marijuana initiative
Obviously the first three are outright legalization though there might be some disagreement regarding that, just talk to Russ Belville who might be able to set you straight on why this really is legalization. The short of it is regardless of the details, it’s still actually legalization and not some diabolical plan for Big Pharma to own our hippie souls.READ MORE »
Election Night Coverage:
Election Night 2012: LIVE on Pot TV
This is my favorite story this week, month, year: Those Pungent Smells Oozing Out of Marijuana Buds Are Actually Giving You Clues About What Their Effects Will Be Like since it reveals proof for what I’ve suspect for many years: Marijuana Helps Treat my Cystic Fibrosis and my Migraine Headaches And here is a link to the paper this information was sourced from: Taming THC: potential cannabis synergy and phytocannabinoid-terpenoid entourage effects
The founder of the flagship medical marijuana center, Harborside Health Center in Oakland, speaks out about how important it is to pass I-502 and how damaging a “no” vote on it could be for people’s lives.
I-502: Too Important to Lose (Steve D’Angelo, Harborside Health Center)
Prohibition has never solved a single problem.
Prohibition has also never actually worked to do anything but breed inequality and allowed the belief in the “undeserving” poor to exist. These are the “bad” ones. The ones that questioned, or just disregarded authority and didn’t care about respectability. We don’t have to care about what the state does to them. And so the police state is born on the back of hate and racism because it’s ok that police beat and kill and imprison blacks, hippies and latinos for “coloring outside the lines”. Essentially, I gave up my “whiteness” in exchange for being a full member of the human race. I lost my whiteness by not leaving behind my 60’s radicalism and continuing down that civilly disobedient path well past the time when ordinarily most people have given up their ideals. It’s no surprise at all to me that I ended up in prison.
Starting on November 14th 1991, I began a sentence of nearly 6 years (5 years and 8 months to be exact) in federal prison, and 4 years on supervised release so that’s really 4 months shy of ten years as an inmate in the federal prison system.
While I was in prison, I made alcohol upstairs in the plumbing shop where I worked as the clerk and the emergency plumber for $35 per month. We used tomato juice, orange juice, grape juice, etc. and unbaked bread dough for yeast. In the winter we froze it for extra kick. I traded this alcohol for weed and so I wasn’t completely without medicine while I did my time for cultivating marijuana and distributing LSD. I don’t personally like alcohol but I’m ok with most people who do. There are always going to be idiots unfortunately, and there is nothing I can do about that.READ MORE »
